I love dressing for fall. I'm sure this has something to do with the Southern California weather that I'm used to, as it doesn't get very cold here and I can always throw on a light jacket and be warm. One thing I am also used to is very cold weather, after living in New York City for four years I have learned to dress for all types of climates. Here are a few of my tips and tricks for staying fashion forward going into the fall season.
1. Make sure you have a coat that looks chic enough that can go from daytime to an evening out. Warm bold colors help, but make sure you pick a color that is versatile with the fall wardrobe you have in your closet.
2. When the cold season hits layer up some of your 3/4 length jackets with a basic long sleeve as this will not only help you stay warm but also look put together and in the know in the fashion world.
3. A trench Coat with details. Not all trench coats are created equal but they are always in fashion. Invest in a stylish one that will keep you looking great for years to come.
4. Fall weather is never predictable and that can mean bad hair days. I always carry a beanie with me because when the rain comes (I'm not one to follow the weather forecast much :/) instead of ruining my hair I just throw a beanie on and still look street chic.
5. I love my summer dresses and time again when fall comes I throw on some all black opaque tights add heels or boots and a blazer then I'm ready to go. This has saved me so many times and it makes any dress look brand new.
6. My light sheer tops that I wear in the summer I pair with slacks. This is always great for work or in my case casual meetings.
7. My go to fall staple are always riding boots. I have more pairs then one person should but the versatility of them is always timeless. I wear them with dresses and tights or with skinny jeans and sometimes I throw on a blazer then I'm ready for lunch with my friends. Either way I can always find a reason to wear my riding boots and they are the first thing I pull out once fall even feels near.
I hope this helps everyone with their fall fashion and if you have any tips of your own post them in the comments section as I would love to hear them. xoxo
